DuPont and ADM to build demo plant for producing FDME from fructose

DuPont and Archer Daniels Midland Company have developed what they claim is a breakthrough process for producing furan dicarboxylic methyl ester from fructose. FDME is a derivative of furandicarboxylic acid , one of the 12 building blocks identified by the US Department of Energy that can be converted into bio-based chemicals or materials.
