Duke Energy Progress proposes lower rates for customers this winter

Lower fuel prices and expected savings from the soon-to-close purchase of $1.2 billion worth of municipal generating plants have led Duke Energy Progress to propose cutting N.C. customer rates by up to 3.4 percent. Residential customers would see the largest cut.
