(Telecompaper) EE has switched on its 5G network, marking the event with a concert by Stormzy on the Thames river in London. The network was turned on in London, as well as in Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast, Birmingham and Manchester. The operator has now launched 5G devices at its stores and introduced its new 5G plans. EE said customers can expect speeds of around 100-150 Mbps with the new network. Speeds on 5G smartphones will be able to break the 1 Gbps mark.
