We are currently looking for a Radio Occultation Science Support Consultancy to support our customer in Germany. EPSSG Radio Occultation Science Support Consultancy Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. You will have the following responsibilities Preparation of algorithm theoretical basis documents for the generation of level 1 and selected level 2 products Preparation of product generation specifications Prototyping of product generation functions Generation of product contents specifications Preparation of test data and of initial validation plans Contribution to the generation of performance budgets Conduct of internal studies related to mission requirements refinements Assessment of results from external studies Contribution to the initiation of scientific support studies System meetings and activities of instrument functional chain teams IFCT1 Participation in reviews. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in remote sensing, meteorology, oceanography or equivalent Several years of experience in the field of remote sensing, including experience with radio occultation observations Experience in satellite data processing Very good skills in a higher programming language, such as Fortran, CC, Python as well as familiarity with Microsoft Office Skills in writing scientifictechnical documents Fluency in English is mandatory. This job is located in Darmstadt. We are looking for candidates who are available from July 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter.
