We are currently looking for an EPSSG Science Support for our customer in Germany. EPSSG Science Support Key Tasks and Responsibilities The activities will include scientific aspects related to the development of the product processing functions of the optical imaging missions in the EPSSG ground segment. The consultant will work in a matrix structure providing crossdivisional support and be hosted in the Remote Sensing and Products Division of the Technical and Science Support Department. You will have the following responsibilities Preparation of product generation specifications for the product processing facilities Prototyping of product generation functions Generation of product contents specifications Preparation of test data Preparation of initial calibrationvalidation plans Contribution to the generation of performance budgets Assessment of results from external studies Contribution to the initiation of scientific support studies System meetings and activities of instrument functional chain teams IFCT1 Participation in ground segment andor instrument reviews, progress and technical meetings. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in remote sensing, meteorology, oceanography, physics, or equivalent Experience in the field of remote sensing in one or more of the areas listed above, including involvement in processing of satellite data up to level 1 calibrated geolocated radiances andor level 2 geophysical parameters Very good skills in a highlevel, compiled programming language, such as Fortran, CC, Java Fluency in commandline use on LinuxUnix platforms Skills in writing scientifictechnical documents Familiarity with Microsoft Office Good interpersonal skills in support of team work Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
