Samsung touts their new TurboWrite technology in this model, which pushes the sequential write speed to 520MBps -- a significant jump over what was offered in the previous 840. Sequential read speeds are also a robust 540MBps and random reads check in at 98K IOPS, so overall performance will be fast. The EVO 840 features the newest Samsung MEX Controller, DDR 2.0 NAND Flash and better firmware than the previous 840.
