000 ABPZ20 KNHC 151739 TWOEP Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 1100 AM PDT Mon Jul 15 2024 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: Central and Western East Pacific: A tropical wave currently producing a large area of showers and thunderstorms is anticipated to merge with an area of low pressure located several hundred miles southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula within the next day or so. Environmental conditions appear conducive for development after that occurs, and a tropical depression could form mid- to late-week as the system moves west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph across the central and western portion of the basin. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent. * Formation chance through 7 days...medium...40 percent. $$ Forecaster Kelly
