Ecolab downgrades profit forecast after first-quarter miss on profits and sales

"While food service and light industrial markets continue to show improving trends, energy markets contracted faster than expected and currency headwinds have increased," Ecolab CEO Doug Baker said. Ecolab Inc. said it will deliver lower profits this year than earlier forecasted after missing analysts' expectations for first-quarter profits and revenue.
