Helen of Troy increased sales 10.8 percent and increased profit 24.4 percent in its first quarter compared to a year ago, even though weak foreign currencies decreased the company's revenues, the El Paso consumer products company reported. The company's March-May sales were $311.8 million, an increase of $33.6 million compared to the same quarter a year ago, led by the company's Healthcare/Home Environment division.
