Ericsson Profit Declines as Costs Offset Rising China Sales

Ericsson AB reported a 9.4 percent decline in third-quarter profit as it boosted spending to compete for contracts to build faster wireless networks in countries such as China. Net income fell to 2.65 billion kronor from 2.92 billion kronor a year earlier, Stockholm-based Ericsson, the world's largest maker of wireless networks, said today.
