(Telecompaper) French digital minister Axelle Lemaire launched a pilot using the new Licensed Shared Access (LSA) spectrum solution developed by Ericsson, Qualcomm and French start-up Red Technologies. Under the pilot, spectrum allocated to the French ministry of defence in the 2.3-2.4 GHz band will be shared using Ericsson's radio access network. The pilot combines Ericsson's latest carrier aggregation (CA) technology with Red Technologies' spectrum assessment and management solutions. The state-of-the art LSA user framework was enabled by Qualcomm and applicable to 5G, described as "a powerful world first".
