Ericsson relaunches Media Solutions business as Mediakind

(Telecompaper) Ericsson has relaunched its Media Solutions business under the new name MediaKind. This follows an agreement in January to sell a majority stake in the business to One Equity Partners. The MediaKind brand will be carried forward when the transaction between One Equity Partners and Ericsson is completed, the company said.

Nokia, China Mobile ink EUR 1 billion frame agreement

(Telecompaper) Nokia and China Mobile have signed a one-year frame agreement valued at up to EUR 1 billion for continued delivery of mobile, fixed, IP routing, optical transport, customer experience management services and operational support as well as services expertise throughout 2018. Under the terms of the agreement, Nokia will provide China Mobile with services to enable a next-generation network for cloud and machine communications. Nokia will provide additional elements of its mobile radio access and core portfolio in addition to fixed access, IP routing and optical transport, customer experience management.

Singtel launches APAC eSports league with Razer, other partners

(Telecompaper) The Singtel Group announced that it will roll out its eSports initiative with the launch of the PVP eSports Championship, a multi-title and regional league with a prize pool of USD 300,000. This is part of the group's efforts to expand its gaming and digital content business across its footprint in the Asia Pacific region. To be held in Singapore from 5 to 7 October, the PVP eSports Championship is in line with Singtel Group's plans to foster an eSports ecosystem and community together with its Australian subsidiary Optus and regional associates Airtel, AIS, Globe and Telkomsel.
