European car sales rise 15% as recovery takes hold despite Greek crisis

New-car registrations in Europe rose at the highest monthly rate in five and a half years in June as extra selling days in key markets, increased discounting and demand for mid-market brands and luxury cars pushed growth. Volume makers including Volkswagen's core division, PSA/Peugeot-Citroen and Fiat brand posted double-digit gains as the region's auto-market recovery is strengthening.
