FAA successfully transferred responsibility for low-altitude airspace in Austin area to San Antonio radar approach control. Austin air traffic control tower's radar room was flooded during a record rainstorm, and completion of repairs is estimated at several weeks. During interim, air traffic controllers from Austin approach control will continue to work from San Antonio. FAA technicians re-routed Austin’s low-altitude radar data and radio frequencies to control positions in San Antonio.
