New documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act show that federally contracted scientists have been raising red flags about the non-therapeutic use of antibiotics in the livestock industry for decades ... and the FDA did nothing about it, even when the antibiotic feed additives failed to meet the FDA's own safety standards .
