General Mills shifting resources away from Green Giant business

General Mills acknowledged the weakness in its Green Giant vegetable business Wednesday, taking a $260 million charge as it redirects money to more promising ventures. With the Green Giant asset write-down and other charges, General Mills posted fiscal fourth quarter net earnings of $187 million, or 30 cents per share, down 53 percent from a year ago.
