2015-05-25 08:53:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Google is working on its own Internet of Things chip software, known as Brilo, The Information reported. The operating system is aimed at low-power devices, possibly with as few as 64 or 32 MB of RAM, people briefed about the project said. Google is likely to release the software under the Android brand, as the group developing the software is linked to the company's Android unit. Fortune reported later that the IoT platform is not part of Nest Labs, the maker of smart home products acquired by Google. However, it will work with Nest products. Code for the new software is expected to be unveiled at Google's upcoming I/O developers conference.
