(Telecompaper) Google has been investing in expanding its artificial intelligence, deep learning and robotics capabilities, and most recently has made an investment through Google Germany in the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (the DFKI). Google is not disclosing the amount of its investment but confirms that the stake will give Google a seat on the DFKI's board. The DFKI is a non-profit institute where some 450 scientists, academics and others work on projects in areas like language technology, embedded intelligence and augmented reality. Occasionally, businesses are spun off from those projects.
