(Telecompaper) Google CEO Larry Page has put Sundar Pichai in charge of all product leadership except for YouTube, Bloomberg reported, citing sources close to the situation. A memo was sent to staff explaining the move. Pichai will continue to keep his existing responsibility for the company's Android and Chrome operations, as well as for Google Apps. The six executives in charge of newly added product areas, all of whom previously reported directly to Page, will now report to Pichai. With the move, the CEO will be more free to focus on innovation. Page will continue to directly manage business and operations, including access and energy (a new unit run by Craig Barratt), Nest, Calico, Google X, corporate development, legal, finance and business (including ad sales). YouTube will still be headed by CEO Susan Wojcicki.
