(Telecompaper) Google is moving its engineering operations out of Russia, Bloomberg reported, citing a a person familiar with the matter, who said that the decision follows new government rules requiring more data to be stored in the country. Despite the shutdown, Google will increase its business investment in Russia next year, the anonymous said added. The company said it was deeply committed to its Russian users and customers and that it had a dedicated team in Russia working to support them. Google has made similar internal changes in other countries, including Sweden, Finland and Norway, the person said.
