Hologic reported a strong first quarter that included double digit growth of its breast-imaging technology sales in the United States but continued weakness overseas. Hologic, which has more than 300 employees locally at its research and development facility on the city's west side, said revenue even exceeded management's expectations as efforts were made to ramp up marketing and commercialization of products including the Selenia Dimensions 3D mammography system.
