Weve been hearing a lot about German diesel-powered passenger cars taking off in sales in the US in recent years. Not that long ago, diesel was not popular with US passenger vehicle owners it was only working for commercial vehicles. That number has started to change in recent years. RL Polk & Co. says that vehicle registrations for diesel-engine cars and SUVs in the US jumped up 25% in sales between 2010 and 2012. The product is going to double in the next two years from about 27 of these models on the US market to 55+ in about two years. Why is that? There are a lot of popular gasoline engine vehicles getting good mileage on the roads today in all vehicle categories. Well, there are three good reasons for it.
