Environmental Services will begin construction this fall on a project to repair or replace over 17,000 feet (over 3 miles) of public sewer pipes in the Humboldt neighborhood. This work will also include repairing or adding over 2,000 feet of service laterals that connect houses and businesses from the curb to the public sewer in the street. Most of the sewer pipes are more than 85 years old and are deteriorating due to age.
