We are accepting applications for a fulltime, fixedterm position as Instructor of Space ScienceStar Theater Director in the Space Science Center. Responsibilities The Instructor Space ScienceStar Theater Director teaches courses as needed or assigned in astronomy, space science, space systems development, and astronautical engineering. The Instructor Space ScienceStar Theater Director manages the Star Theater, directs and oversees activities hosted in the theater as well as develops, implements, and manages education and public outreach activities for the Space Science Center. The Instructor Space ScienceStar Theater Director supports the Space Science Centers research and development projects and space mission operations. Qualifications Masters degree in Earth or space science, astronomy, physics, science education or a closely related discipline, or at least 18 graduate credit hours in one of the disciplines. Experience with graphical software systems, high performance computers, servers and digital electronics is also required. Dynamic presentation and communication skills and a positive team oriented attitude is required. Desired Qualifications Experience in planetaria operation or management, experience with planetaria software systems, and experience in the production of planetarium shows is desired. Experience in programming in software languages including HTML, PHP, Java, Basic, and experience in developing applets in these languages is also desirable. Experience in grants and contract development from state or federal agencies is also desirable. PhD in astronomy, astronautical engineering, space science or related discipline is desirable.
