Every year the AAFA honors those who have exemplified leadership, excellence, and outstanding achievement in all sectors of the apparel and footwear industry, including education, design, manufacturing, and retail.This year's honorees include: Iris Apfel -Fashion Maverick Christian Siriano -Designer of the Year Shinola Detroit-Retailer of the Year Joseph Abboud- Person of the Year BBC International-Company of the Year This is a powerful list, Christian Siriano is a young talented designer who started his career in London working for fashion greats Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. He then went on to win "Project Runway" and the rest like they say is history.
