JEA hopes third time is a charm for Southbank property

For the third time, JEA has set a final due date for bids to develop 30 acres of its former Southside Generating Station site, prime waterfront property eyed as a major economic development opportunity for downtown Jacksonville. The Oct. 7 due date is months after the original May deadline as JEA sought to complete a series of land swaps with the Duval County Public Schools, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority and the city of Jacksonville to improve access to the site - making the Southbank property more attractive to potential developers.
