Johnson Controls strikes deal with Hitachi, reports income boost

Alex Molinaroli traveled to Davos, Switzerland, for the World Economic Forum and sealed a deal for Johnson Controls Inc. to acquire a 60 percent-stake in Hitachi Appliance, a leading producer of heating and air conditioning appliances. The joint venture will employ 13,800 workers and manufacture products in 24 plants around the world, according to a release outlining the deal.
