Jumps in auto sales, building permits help raise Lubbock Economic Index in August

Increases in auto sales and building permit valuations helped lift the Lubbock Economic Index 4 percent in August compared to the same month last year. The increase continued an upward trend going back more than three years following the recession and economic downturn during the end of last decade.
