Jury deliberations to continue in El Paso police officer's death lawsuit

A jury on Friday began deliberations on a $30-million lawsuit in the death of an El Paso police officer on Interstate 10. Officer Angel David Garcia, 27, was struck and killed in December 2012 after he stopped his patrol car in the left lane of I-10 East to remove a ladder blocking two lanes near the Hawkins Boulevard exit. The suit alleges that Harvey Richard Hall was driving a semi-truck owned by Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc., and caused the chain-reaction crash in which Garcia was killed.
