KPN Q2 sales fall 3.7%, profits increase on cost cuts

(Telecompaper) KPN reported second-quarter sales down 3.7 percent to EUR 1.68 billion, while EBITDA was up 1.9 percent to EUR 579 million thanks to cost reductions. EBIT increased 21 percent to EUR 205 million, and net profit rose 1.3 percent to EUR 162 million. Capital expenditure at the Dutch operator edged 2.0 percent higher at EUR 312 million, and free cash flow increased 9.5 percent to EUR 254 million. KPN maintained its outlook for flat EBITDA, capex of EUR 1.2 billion and free cash flow over EUR 650 million in 2016.
