Kingshighway bridge closing Monday, will affect thousands of drivers

A stretch of Kingshighway that carries more than 40,000 vehicles daily between south St. Louis and Interstate 44 or points farther north is closing for two years after rush hour Monday morning. A 75-year-old bridge on Kingshighway between Southwest/Vandeventer and Shaw Boulevard that spans Union Pacific Railroad tracks will undergo a $21 million reconstruction project.
