LG results up in Q3 as smartphone sales return to growth

(Telecompaper) LG Electronics reported a strong improvement in third-quarter results, as growth in its home appliances and TV business was supplemented by improved sales of its smartphones. Revenues increased 15 percent to KRW 15.22 trillion, with higher sales all four divisions. Operating profit nearly doubled to KRW 516.1 billion, as strong profitability in home entertainment and appliances offset losses in the mobile and automotive businesses.
