LIRR service disrupted after train hits car in Wyandanch

Long Island Rail Road service is temporarily suspended in both directions between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma after an eastbound train hit a car that was on the tracks Saturday night, officials said. A Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokeswoman said the car stopped on the tracks on Little East Neck Road in Wyandanch, just east of the Pinelawn station, for an unknown reason.
