La-Z-Boy profit up to $17.9M

La-Z-Boy Inc. on Tuesday reported a fiscal third quarter profit of $17.9 million, or 34 cents a share, up 9 per cent compared to the same period a year ago when the furniture maker had a profit of $16.4 million, or 31 cents a share. The company's upholstery segment sales increased 2.2 percent to $286.3 million from $280.3 million in the same period a year ago.
