Lennar, Union Pacific reach deal on Warm Springs mixed-use development

Union Pacific Railroad and developer Lennar Corp. have reached an agreement to develop more than 100 acres of property in Fremont's Innovation District, the city announced last Friday. Approved by Fremont City Council on April 7, Lennar's master plan calls for 2,214 residential units , 286 of them affordable rental units, 1.4 million square feet of research and development and Class A office space, a 5-acre elementary school and a joint-use 4-acre park for the school and the city on 111 acres in Warm Springs, just north of Tesla Motors.
