As part of the Instrument Functional Chain Engineering group of the MTS System Engineering team within the GEO Division, you will have the following responsibilities Development and evaluation of detector, electronic, radiometric, quality flagging performances and monitoring algorithms relevant for the LI 01B data processing Support for the development of prototype software codes for the purposes of testing and verification of the developed LI 01b algorithms Provision of the development of appropriate LI triggered event filteringflagging algorithms for 01b and 12 data processing Provision of an Algorithm Theoretical baseline Document for the LI 01b processing Participation in the LI Instrument Functional Chain Engineering group Conducting studies and analysing study results, generation of associated documentation including technical reports. Requirements You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in Physics or a related field Demonstrable familiarity with satellite instruments characteristics for earth observation EO in the visiblenearinfrared range of the spectrum and with their 0 1b calibration, as well as with relating physics processes in such satellite instruments to the relevant 01b data processing algorithms required to provide geophysical calibrated level1b data Solid background in softwareSW engineering, experience in SW development in LinuxUnix environment in CC is an advantage Experience with scientific instrument data simulation, 01b data processing SW development and prototypingtesting such SW for satellite instruments for EO projects would be a distinct advantage Experience with SW prototyping tools IDL and build environments and tools e.g. imake, make would be an asset Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Fluency in English.
