The Key Person shall have, as a prerequisite, a university degree or comparable qualifications in Meteorology, Atmospheric Physics or related subjects, and a demonstrated experience in the area of satellite meteorology or satellite data processing. The Key Person shall have at least 3 years of experience in software development in a Linux or Unix environment, together with at least 3 years of experience in CC, preferably also in Fortran90. Knowledge on lightning processes, lightning detection systems ground or space based and on the general atmospheric processes in convective situations would be a distinct advantage. Furthermore, experience with graphics packages like IDL or Matlab would be a distinct advantage. The Key Person is required to have the experience and capability to fulfill the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision. The Key Person shall also possess good interpersonal skills. The working language for this position is English and therefore the Key Person must be able to work effectively in this language.
