London Markets: Diageo boosts FTSE 100 after takeover chatter

U.K. stocks swung between small gains and losses on Monday, but Diageo PLC helped keep the benchmark from deep losses on speculation a Brazilian billionaire is considering a takeover of the drinks maker. jumped 7.4%, setting it on track for its best daily percentage performance since the fall of 2008.
