Mahwah-based Ascena Retail Group reports 4 pct drop in holiday sales

Mahwah-based specialty retailer Ascena Retail Group, which owns and operates brands such as women's specialty clothing companies Lane Bryant and Dressbarn, said Tuesday that holiday sales dropped 4 percent. Ascena President and Chief Executive Officer David Jaffe said the holiday period - from Nov. 21 to Jan. 3 - was affected by "soft traffic" and "unseasonably warm weather."
