California-based Mango Materials converts methane into the biopolymer polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA), scaling operations at Vacavilles Easterly Wastewater Treatment Plant to advance sustainable plastic alternatives. Co-founded by Allison Pieja, Molly Morse, and Anne Schauer-Gimenez, the company aims to produce a billion pounds of biopolymer through decentralized manufacturing, leveraging methane from waste facilities to drive cost-effective, carbon-negative production.
