MediaTek announces new P10 SoC, upgrades popular eight-core model

MediaTek has announced its upcoming P10 SoC, a performance-mainstream option that will update its older octa-core designs and improve power efficiency. This new chip could see widespread US release if the new, CDMA2000-capable modem catches on as a budget smartphone option.
