It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy has arisen for a Microwave Radiometer Expert with Airbus Defence and Space in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will have an expert role within microwave radiometer project team providing specific system and instrumentlevel domain knowledge in spacebased passive microwave radiometry. The successful candidate will be subject to security clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. The key responsibilities of the role are as follows a Design and development of flight microwave radiometer instrument, including support to customer and supplier design reviews. b Instrument radiometric performance analysis, including understanding of overall radiometer system requirements and translation to instrument performance parameters. c Technical specification and oversight of procured instrument equipments and subassemblies. d Support to instrument integration, test and verification. e Support to development of microwave radiometer product line, including development of prospects and proposals for radiometer opportunities. f Support the role of design authority for passive microwave instruments. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience I Required Experience a Extensive experience of Microwaves Radiometers and quasioptic design. b Experience required in microwave instrument specification, design and testing. c Experience of flight instrument payload development life cycle. d Previous experience working with ESA or Eumetsat customer. II JobTechnical Knowledge a Knowledge of Spacecraft systems, Satellite instruments and payloads, Microwave sensors. b Specific and demonstrated heritage in the domain of microwave radiometers. c Knowledge of radiometer performance assessment, d Knowledge of passive microwave critical technologies. III Qualifications Honours Degree in Physics, Electronics or related Engineering discipline OR Msc in an appropriate subject. IV General Ideally, you have strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
