In his post regarding December Employment Report by Bureau of Labor Statistics, NAM Chief Economist Chad Moutray noted that manufacturing sector added 25,000 net new workers – strongest monthly gain since March. This contrasts recently released ADP figures, which found 6 straight months of declining manufacturing employment. During 2012, manufacturers hired additional 180,000 workers on net, or 10% of all nonfarm payroll jobs created this year, and this growth was slower than hoped.
