(Telecompaper) NEC is planning to sell mobile phone retailer NEC Mobiling for between JPY 70 billion and JPY 80 billion, people familiar with the situation told Reuters. The two rivals for the 51 percent stake are Marubeni's telecommunications unit and TD Mobile, owned by Toyota Tsuho and Denso. NEC Mobiling operates a chain of stores for operator NTT DoCoMo. A buyer could be picked as early as the week of 2 April, the source said. NEC, which declined to comment on the matter, is in the process of cutting 10,000 jobs, mainly from its mobile phone division.
