Commending inclusion of energy efficiency as key provision in EPA's proposed rule to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from existing electric power plants, NEMA President and CEO Evan R. Gaddis praised notion that energy efficiency is included as part of USA's climate change strategy. By letting states use energy efficiency as means of compliance, proposed rule could increase demand for efficient electrical products that, in turn, support manufacturing sector jobs.
