NMG acquires Russian business of Viasat

(Telecompaper) Russian company National Media Group (NMG) has closed a deal on the restructuration of the Russian business of satellite operator Viasat. NMG will own an 80 percent stake in the Synergy joint venture, which distributes TV channels from Viasat in Russia. The joint venture will manage all Viasat channels broadcast in Russia, including the Viasat Premium HD package. The whole list contains 15 TV channels, including TV1000, TV1000 Action, TV1000 Russian Films, Viasat Explore and other. Aleksey Krol has been appointed the CEO of the joint venture.
