Developed by Energy Department's National Renewable Energy Laboratory, NREL Electric Calcium Test (e-Ca) uses unique design elements to measure corrosion from water. Resulting ability to detect infinitesimally small amounts of moisture promotes assurance that barrier films will last. Optimized for sensitivity, e-Ca method specifically uses test cards with calcium metal traces for detection of down to 10<sup>-7</sup> g of water per square meter per day.
