Description of the job A vacancy has arisen for an experienced engineer within the Test engineering division of the Communication Processors Group based in Stevenage. The Communication Products group is responsible for the development of Digital Processors for use in telecommunication Satellites. The processor functionality ranges from high capacity channelisers, supporting intersatellite optical data links, to implementing cryptographic algorithms to protect the spacecraft. Tasks accountabilities Lead and oversee the design, development and validation of test system hardware and software to meet the challenging demands of testing digital equipments destined for space applications Work with heritage test systems and commercialofftheshelf COTS technology to create an automated test system that meets the demands of verifying product requirements Deliver a complex test solution including hardware, software, test reports, procedures, test scripts and results analysis. Work within a dedicated testsystem team and interact closely with product engineers and project managers to deliver testing to the cost, schedule and quality expectations. Support all test activities including environmental testing until final delivery of flight units to the customer. Assist in investigations into any test anomalies to rapidly determine the root cause and ensure that customer confidence in the product is maintained. Prepare and carry out design reviews softwaresystem This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth. Job Description For one of our clients we are looking for an Optical Verification Test Engineer for their location near Munich. This role is to support the optical instrument projects in the field of engineering and technical procurement of optical ground support equipment and metrology tools. Main tasks involve performing optical tests and measurements in the context of the verification of instruments and critical technologies in the optics laboratory. Tasks and Responsibilities Support to engineering activities during AIVT phases focus on optical ground support equipment OGSE and metrology tools in collaboration coordination with other AIT activities Optical test operations Assembly of test setups for optical tests eg wave front error, polarization, stray light, etc. OGSE and optical metrology operations during instrument assembly integration test AIT campaigns Modification adaptation of existing software and tools as required for optical tests Execution of optical tests using the optics laboratory facilities, including thermalvacuum chambers Evaluation and reporting of test data. Your day to day activities As a Test Engineer on our team, you will be working on a Mission Critical System that is part of the Galileo infrastructure. Your contribute to the security aspects and data protection of this navigation mission. Your main task is verification of the system requirements which includes writing, updating and running test procedures. The system is characterized by a high level of complexity. In addition, you will perform investigations of NonConformances by means of observing and reporting NCRs. Your responsibilities will include Execution of integration and verification tests Investigation of anomalies, reporting the results of the investigation and archiving all proof and logs required to reproduce the anomaly Maintenance of Test Procedures, Requirements Traceability and Test Results Documents Integration and maintenance of the Test Bench according to the requirements. The Test Bench includes both the system under test and the test tools Integration of new elements into the Test Bench System Integration Verification SIV support by preparation and validation of SIV Operations training support by verifying that the requested scenario can be run on the Test Bench, and assistance during the execution of the scenario ESA support by preparation of test data. Things you need to be successful You have a strong interest in verifying requirements for a highly complex space system. You are inquisitive, a fast learner and able to investigate and diagnose technical problems. You are wellorganized, energetic with a high level of attention to detail.
