Online video streamer Netflix Inc. Monday reported a benefit for some customers in September from its recent deal for faster content delivery with Verizon Communications Inc. Netflix said in a blog post that the average streaming speed for customers who use the Verizon FiOS service jumped in September to 3.17 megabits per second , a monthly gain of 31.5 percent. Though the boost signals an improvement in the movie streaming service as a result of corporate arrangements, the streaming speed remains short of the national standard: The average Internet speed in the U.S., which ranks 10th globally, in April was 10 Mbps, according to Venture Beat .
