New car sales for October: Winners and losers

General Motors, behind gains in light-truck demand at Chevrolet , GMC and Cadillac , along with strong retail and fleet volume, posted a 16 percent increase in October U.S. sales. Volume rose 18 percent at Chevrolet and GMC, and 13 percent at Cadillac.
